-- Plumbing Services in Brentwood

Brentwood is one of the older communities in central Suffolk County, and a lot of the housing stock here reflects that history. Many homes were built in the 1940s through 1960s and still have their original plumbing infrastructure — cast iron drain lines, galvanized steel supply pipes, and older drain configurations that were standard at the time but have been slowly failing for decades.

Galvanized supply pipes are one of the most common issues we deal with in Brentwood. Steel pipes corrode from the inside over time, building up mineral deposits that restrict flow until the water pressure in a bathroom or kitchen drops to a frustrating trickle. The only real fix is replacement — we repipe with copper or PEX, which lasts far longer and does not have the corrosion problem. It is a bigger job, but it solves the problem permanently.

Cast iron drain lines eventually crack, corrode, and develop root intrusion — especially at joints where sections have separated slightly over decades of ground movement. If you are dealing with recurring slow drains or backups throughout the house, the main line is worth a camera inspection. We also do a lot of water heater work in Brentwood and boiler service heading into the heating season. If your home has old equipment, we will tell you honestly what it needs.

USERCHECKINS

Job 1: Galvanized supply line replacement, Brentwood. 1958 cape cod with original galvanized throughout. Water pressure to the upstairs bath was nearly gone. Replaced all galvanized runs with 3/4" copper main and 1/2" copper branches. Full pressure restored the same day.

Job 2: Main sewer line repair, Brentwood. Recurring backups in a 1962 ranch — camera inspection found a section of the clay sewer lateral had collapsed about 25 feet from the foundation. Excavated and replaced the failed section with new PVC, connected to the existing clay at both ends.

Job 3: Water heater replacement, Brentwood. 19-year-old 40-gallon gas unit in a basement laundry room. Leaking from the bottom and producing rusty water — clear sign of internal tank corrosion. Replaced with a Bradford White 50-gallon gas atmospheric vent unit. Old unit was well past its service life.

Job 4: Cast iron drain snaking, Brentwood. Kitchen sink drain had been slow for months. Original cast iron stack in a 1955 home. Snaked from the fixture down to the main with a drum machine, cleared a substantial grease buildup at the first horizontal run. Drain flowing normally.

Job 5: Emergency leak repair, Brentwood. Homeowner called at 6 PM — water coming through the kitchen ceiling from the bathroom above. Found a cracked supply stop valve behind the toilet that had failed. Shut off the main, replaced the valve, and restored water service.

Job 6: Toilet replacement, Brentwood. Original 1960s toilet — poor flush performance. Replaced with a new dual-flush elongated unit. Improved flushing performance immediately.

Job 7: Boiler tune-up, Brentwood. Pre-season service on a gas steam boiler in a 1948 house with original cast iron radiators. Cleaned the boiler sight glass, adjusted the pressuretrol setting, skimmed the boiler water, and bled all radiator vents. Several radiators that had been cold were heating again.

Job 8: Outdoor hose bib replacement, Brentwood. Frost-free sillcock was dripping steadily from around the handle stem. Packing had failed. Replaced the entire unit. Sealed the exterior penetration with hydraulic cement.
