What to look for in a Suffolk County plumber
New York State requires a Master Plumber license for any plumbing work beyond basic fixture swap-outs. Suffolk County has its own contractor licensing layer on top of that. Before you hire anyone, ask for their NYS Master Plumber license number and their Suffolk County contractor number — then verify them. Ours are NYS MP-MP-24891 and Suffolk HI-55429.
Second, ask if the company uses W-2 employees or subcontractors. Subs are not always bad, but they change who is responsible when something goes wrong. Our crew — all six people — are full-time W-2 employees who have been with us for years. When Tony shows up at your door, he's been on our payroll since 2013, not hired this morning off a day-labor app.
Third: do they give you a written quote before they start? Verbal quotes turn into disputes. We write every scope down. If we open a wall and find something extra, we stop, show you, and get your OK before we continue.
Plumbing questions, straight answers.
If your question is not here, call us. Most questions take five minutes on the phone.
(631) 397-2295Yes. Mike answers the emergency line nights and weekends. We dispatch the same day — often the same evening for active leaks, flooding, or no-heat calls across all of Suffolk County.
A snake handles most residential clogs. Hydro-jetting is for grease-packed restaurant lines, recurring kitchen drain problems, root intrusion in sewer lines, and severe mineral scale. We camera-inspect before recommending — you only get what the job actually needs.
Yes. New York State requires a permit for water heater replacement. We pull the permit as a standard part of every install and handle the inspection. Permit cost is included in our quote.
A tune-up is preventive — we clean burners, check efficiency, test safety controls, and catch problems before they fail in January. A repair is reactive — something has already stopped working. We do both. Annual tune-ups run less than emergency repairs and extend the life of the equipment.
Yes. When pipe condition and access allow, we offer cured-in-place pipe lining (CIPP) as an alternative to open-cut excavation. Trenchless costs more upfront but saves landscaping. We camera-inspect first and show you both options with real pricing before you decide.
All of them. We are based in Hauppauge and run two crews across Suffolk daily — from Riverhead to Babylon, Smithtown to Huntington, Bay Shore to East Hampton. If it is in Suffolk County, we cover it. See our full service area at /areas/suffolk-county/.
