-- Plumbing Services in Mount Sinai
Mount Sinai is a North Shore community in the Town of Brookhaven, a mix of established residential neighborhoods and waterfront properties along Long Island Sound. The community has a strong single-family residential character — primarily ranches, capes, and colonials that span several decades of construction from the 1950s through the 1980s.
Water heater replacement and boiler service are the core of our regular work in Mount Sinai. The heating equipment in homes from this area tends to be aging — many units are past the 15-year mark where replacement is more economical than continued repair. We install Bradford White water heaters, which are built to handle Long Island's water chemistry and winter demands, and we service all major boiler brands.
The North Shore location means cold winter conditions are more severe than further inland, and frozen pipe calls are a reality in Mount Sinai — particularly in homes with crawl spaces, uninsulated garage utilities, or exterior wall pipe runs that are not adequately protected. We respond to those emergency calls and also do pre-winter assessments for homeowners who want to be proactive.
USERCHECKINS
Job 1: Water heater replacement, Mount Sinai. 50-gallon electric unit in a waterfront property — 13 years old and not recovering fast enough for weekend guests. Replaced with a Bradford White 50-gallon heat pump water heater. Much faster recovery and lower operating cost.
Job 2: Boiler tune-up and circulator replacement, Mount Sinai. Annual service on a gas hot water boiler — found the circulator pump was noisy and showing signs of bearing failure. Replaced the circulator, completed the full tune-up, and bled all zones. No more noise, even heat throughout the house.
Job 3: Sewer lateral inspection, Mount Sinai. New homeowners wanted a sewer camera inspection as part of their due diligence after purchasing an older property. Camera found a partial root intrusion at 30 feet — cleared it and confirmed the rest of the lateral was in good condition. Clean bill of health for the new owners.
Job 4: Frozen pipe — crawl space, Mount Sinai. February emergency call — no water pressure in the house. Found a frozen copper supply line in the crawl space. Used heat to thaw the line, found a small crack at the frozen point, repaired the section, and added foam pipe insulation to the entire crawl space run.
Job 5: Kitchen faucet and supply line replacement, Mount Sinai. Customer was replacing the kitchen faucet as part of a minor kitchen update. Installed the customer-supplied single-handle pull-down faucet. Also replaced both supply stops — the originals were gate valves from 1975 that would not close fully.
Job 6: Drain cleaning — kitchen and laundry, Mount Sinai. Kitchen drain had been slow for months, laundry drain was starting to back up. Snaked both from the fixture down to the main connection. Kitchen had a grease blockage, laundry had a lint accumulation. Both clear and flowing.
Job 7: Toilet fill valve and supply line, Mount Sinai. Running toilet in the upstairs hall bathroom — running for at least several months based on the water bill increase. Replaced the fill valve, flapper, and supply line. Water bill dropped noticeably the following month.
Job 8: Outdoor shower installation, Mount Sinai. Waterfront property wanted a cold-water outdoor shower added near the dock access. Ran a supply line from the interior, installed a single-handle shut-off and shower head, and added a proper drain connection. Winterized the supply line with a drainable frost-free design.
